General Abdol Ali Badraei born in Kermanshah in July 1st, 1919. He graduated from the military academy in Kermanshah then in Tehran.
Badraei joined the Imperial army as Lieutenant in the Mounted Infantry after graduation. His first mission was in 1946 to fight against terrorists in Azerbaijan and Kurdistan states.
He joined the imperial guards in 1946. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general and served as second in command in the guards in 1967. He became a major general in 1971. He was appointed commander of the immortal guards in 1973. He was made lieutenant general in 1975. He was appointed commander of the imperial guards in 1976.
He was named commander of the ground forces in January 10, 1979 instead of being reprimanded by The Shah due to these remarks. Badrei formed a group to carry a military coup in February 10 just before the Iranian revolution. He served in the post of the Imperial Guards commander until assassinated in February 11. The Guards was disbanded in February 17.
